ASCHBACH
Schloss Aschbach, its park, surrounding forest and a large part of its historic furnishings are owned by the Freiherr von Pölnitz Foundation, a non-profit charitable foundation based in Bavaria, Germany.
The castle is located in Aschbach, a municipality of the Upper Franconian town of Schlüsselfeld, just 25 minutes from the UNESCO world heritage city of Bamberg and the Volkach wine region.
The foundation bears full responsibility for the preservation, maintenance and cultural activation of this heritage site.
The castle has undergone two major renovations; one in the 1970s and another ending recently in 2024. The foundation also manages the distillery and forests surrounding the grounds.
All rental income and event proceeds go exclusively to the foundation to support monument preservation, landscape stewardship and cultural programming.
We offer one day, three day, and weekly rentals of our renovated South Wing which can accommodate parties for up to 100 guests, as well as for product or personal photoshoots.
We work directly with Knuts Events, our exclusive caterer and event planner for all events conducted at the Schloss.
Currently 3 generations of the von Pölnitz family work to preserve and manage the property and its forests.
We are particularly indebted to Wolfgang Freiherr Von Pölnitz who originally set out to restore the North Wing in the 1970s and 1980s and ultimately lived in the Schloss until 2010.
